22 Minute Hard Corps Round 1 Day 16

Today was Resistance 1. 3 round, 5 moves each with a bonus round at the end. Last week I used 5 pound weights for this routine. I decided to up it to 8 pounds this week. I was able to complete 2 rounds with the 8 pound weight and had to switch to 5 pounds for the last round. The squat thrusts is what really did me in for having to use a smaller weight. I enjoy this routine a lot and I cannot wait to see how I improve from here!

22 Minute Hard Corps Round 1 Day 15

Today was Cardio 1 and Core 1. The workouts are definitely getting easier. I was able to complete the regular version on everything except the burpees. I am glad to see my fitness challenged and still review enough that I can tell I am getting stronger. On to another day!

The Transform App Weight Loss Level 2 Day 36

Today was an AMRAP (As Many Rounds As Possible), that was 10 minutes long. The exercises were 10 mountain climbers, 20 high knees and 30 air squats. I was able to complete 4 rounds completely and the 5th I got all but 14 squats done. I really enjoy these workouts. The moves are easy to learn, easy to do (for the most part), and usually fairly short workouts. For the rest of the day I have my steps to get in, and I have my other workout this evening. On to another good day!

22 Minute Hard Corps Round 1 Day 12

Today was Resistance 2. I am still a little sore from yesterday but I was able to complete this workout with minimal modification. We do not have a pull-up bar so I have to modify all of the workouts that require one. I very much enjoy the short time on these workouts but I always feel like I get a great workout. Push Pulls were definitely working my sore back. I made extra sure that I did this with correct form to avoid a serious injury. I may need some Ibuprofen after tonight but, it will all get better.

The Transform App Weight Loss Level 2 Day 33

Today was a Chipper workout. Which basically means, you’ll be doing a lot of reps of some move/s that Chris and Heidi Powell think might possibly kill you. Today was: 125 Jumping Jacks, 100 Bridge Ups (oh my glutes), and 75 Sit-Ups.

My key to getting these done is not getting it all done at one time. I always break it up into sections. Do I think I can do 125 jumping jacks at once? No. My feet hurt after a few but, I can do about 25 at a time without problems. So I do my 25 and then rest for a couple of seconds before knocking out the next 25. It’s all about chipping away at the huge quantity until it all gets done. I have even done Chippers before where I would do some of one exercise and then do another for a little bit to give whatever muscle group a rest. Today I opted for continuing with one move until it got knocked out.

My favorite thing about these Transform App workouts is they are never super long. They usually take from 10-30 minutes and then I can go about the rest of my day. On the weight loss cycle you do these strength workouts 3 times a week and cardio 6 days a week. In level 1, the cardio started around 10 minutes and you worked up to about 30 minutes by the end of the 12 weeks. In level 2 picked up right where you left off with about 35 minutes of cardio. I don’t follow the intervals laid out since I do my Beachbody workouts for these “Accelerators” but, I have done it once before with interval running. I learned, I’m definitely not a runner.

Overall, I feel this app has changed my fitness journey. I love that it gradually progresses as your fitness level increases, the meal plan adjusts for you if you hit a plateau, and it’s not super far from the container meal prep system from Beachbody. I plan on continuing this for a long, long time.

22 Minute Hard Corps Round 1 Day 11

Today was Cardio 1 and Special Ops: Core. This core workout kicked my butt again!

During Cardio 1 I can do most of the exercises as is and only have to modify the burpees. I have trouble catching my breath when trying to do so many burpees in a row. Modifying this move allows me to be able to complete all of the reps.

Special Ops: Core has some crazy new core exercises I have never seen before. It allows my abs a challenge that I enjoy doing.

Overall, I love that all of these workouts are so short, all of the Cardio and Resistance workouts are 22 minutes, including the cool down, the Core workouts range from 10-16 minutes. I love that Beachbody has figured out that you don’t have to workout for hours a day to get a good workout!

22 Minute Hard Corps Round 1 Day 10

Today was Resistance 1. I have a strong appreciation for any workout that expects me to complete several rounds that include a lot of push-ups. I skipped push-ups for much of my journey so, now I have issues getting them completed. I am working on this but, it requires me to modify so I can finish the set. I used 8 pound weights today which was slightly hard during the squat thrusts but seem to really challenge me. The 5 pound weights I used last week left me without feeling like I had done much of a workout. I am very glad to have access to the Beachbody On Demand workouts. I love that I can access all of the workouts for under $100 for a year!

The Transform App Weight Loss Level 2 Day 31

Today was a Rounds for Time workout. Those Burpees are no joke! I ended up doing the modifier of squat thrusts for the last 2 rounds, those are no joke either! I am so glad to be seeing progress in my workouts. I still do a lot of the push-up type activities from my knees but since I skipped push-ups for so long I’m still building my arms. I do not skip any of the workouts now. I may have to pause and take a break for a minute but all of my reps get done now!

22 Minute Hard Corps Round 1 Day 9

Today was Cardio 2 and Special Ops Core. Cardio 2 started off easy but then moved into some pretty difficult water bugs, frog burpees and gorilla crawls. Special Ops Core was easily the hardest 16 minutes of Core workout I have ever done. Some moves were easy and some I definitely had to modify! On to another brutal round with Tony Horton tomorrow!
