Sometimes Life Just Sucks…

We are supposed to have an intervention for my dad this weekend. His health has been declining A LOT lately and we are all (mom, sister, grandfather, me, and a nurse), supposed to meet over there Saturday to “discuss” him moving into an assisted living facility. This isn’t going to go well at all. He’s not going to be happy, there going to be lots of yelling and probably cussing. I am hoping I can just keep my cool and stay quiet. This isn’t my ballgame. He’s not going to move until he wants to move.

He had been talking about a month ago about buying and moving into a handicapped accessible house but, as far as I know that isn’t happening. It hasn’t been mentioned since the one time, which was before they toured the place.

At the end of the day, no one likes their freedoms being taken away, no one likes being told they can’t do something or are unable to take care of themselves but according to his nurse, he has gotten to that point.

He has enough mental capability that he shouldn’t need a nursing home BUT, he needs someone more experienced to handle/make sure he’s taking his MANY medicines, helping him around the house, and making sure that his health is in a good place.

This year alone he’s been in the hospital 3 times. He’s been in the hospital for at least a week 3 times this year and he’s about to the point it’s going to need to happen again.

No one wanted this time to come but we all know that he doesn’t have much time left.

I also let Jonathan know how mad at him I would be if he didn’t address any health concerns like this that he had when they first started. Who knows if addressing things earlier would have helped but, learning you have diabetes and essentially doing nothing to change your lifestyle beyond taking a pill at the beginning, leading to insulin, leading to blood clots, strokes, heart attacks, blindness, loss of a leg due to clots, seems like a battle that could have been easier with lifestyle change at the beginning.

I really hope this meeting on Saturday goes well but, I know more than likely he will be super unhappy and it will most likely result in yelling, possibly a heart attack. I just hope that we can all remain calm and let him know we’re all coming from a place of love. We’ll see what happens.

A Little Bit of Bored…

I have been switching up different shows that I have been watching. Starting with shorter series or ones that I only have 1 or 2 seasons to catch up on, and then I’ll move to some longer series. I have also been trying to keep up with reading as this was one of my goals for the year, to finish all the books in my possession before moving onto digital books on Scribd. So far, I am making progress but I have A LOT of books to read through. I again started with shorter books, or smaller series and have moved into longer books and series. Currently reading through book 7 in the Outlander series, close to the end before moving onto book 8. Before that I read through EVERYTHING Julia Quinn. Her books were binged after watching the Bridgerton series on Netflix.

We have been moving along in school, currently 6 years old and in 2nd grade. My kid is a BEAST! She learns more every day and surprises with her vocabulary every day. Working on reading and getting better with that every day.

We all just got over being sick and reading and school was a little slower than usual, sometimes being skipped or skipping portions that we had already been over 1,000 times.

Towards the end of the month now and going into my birthday month! I’ll be 31 this year, past the big 3-0 and no more really big hills in a while to get over. 30 really didn’t hit me hard at all, it’s just another year.

Well, that’s about it for now, boring as usual!

Week 28, 2021

Well, I suck at updating this thing. We have not really been good this year in debt payoff. We did some more restructuring for lower interest rates but pay off has been slow.

I recently cancelled some bills so we have a little more wiggle room and we’ll see how things go now.

We have had a lot of holidays and birthdays in the last couple of months with still more to come. We also expanded our garden to a MUCH larger size.

Here’s to trying to get back on track!

Halfway Point of 2021

Well, I suuuuuuuck at writing consistently. I have obviously not stayed up with writing consistently. And I don’t know if things will change.

Life gets hard something, obviously. Sometimes we need a break to just THINK and not be DOING everything. I keep reminders set up on my phone but it’s just one of those things, you see them pop up all the time and just dismiss them because you’re used to seeing them all the time.

Summer work is always busier, one of those industries where summer months = more calls, more issues, more actual working hours. I LOVE working from home and the flexibility it allows me. My daughter loves schooling from home, and I love that I get to watch her grow up.

Here’s to another post in hopefully less than 6 months. haha!

Eh….

This hasn’t been a great year for weight loss. It’s been a lazy year. 5 years of being on the ball I guess took it’s toll? Or I just got lazy in tracking anything. Either way, we’re mid 2021 and my weight is definitely up from what it was at the beginning of the year.

In May, I moved back to using the Transform App to plan my calories/macros for me. I haven’t necessarily been following the macros since I do better with a balanced approach rather than low/high carb day approach so it’s been more of calorie cycling. Most importantly, my weight is moving in the right direction. I have been glad to see the scale move the right way even with extra snack here and there. It’s been good to see the number on the scale go down.

I know I’m a ways away from being back where I was but I am glad that it’s moving in the right direction again.

Here’s to hopefully continuing this journey and getting back into my thin pants!

Heavenly Father,

I want to pray for my family. Especially my dad. His health issues are extensive and it seems he has let some get out of control…again. I pray you would give wisdom to the doctors and nurses as they treat him. I thank you that his swelling is going down. I pray the medicine would help with his infection. I thank you for the extra years we have gotten with him and I thank you for advances in medical technologies that help us to know what is wrong. I pray for peace for the rest of the family during this time. That you would give us all a calm to know that you are ultimately the one in control and the one who knows what is going to happen. Thank you.

Apparently this is going to be a day to remember. News reports were flashing all over my phone all day. People. Stormed. The. White. House. WTF?! I don’t even know what else to say to this one.

In my personal life, calories were on point, more cleaning of the house, and taking care of the child. Jonathan got a temp crown put onto a tooth that needed it.

I also got some double point knitting needles in and started on some socks! Yay!

Here’s to another chance tomorrow for us to make things better. We and our children have to live here, we need to do better.

Another day, more goals hit. My legs however were so sore that all I could manage was my steps for the day. This time around will clearly be an easing into the workouts go around. What I can do through the soreness is make sure my calories are on point and go from there. Yay!

January 5th, 2021

Another day down. I managed to get my Bible reading in for today as well. My legs were sore from working out yesterday so I did half of a workout. My neck is also bothering me for some reason.

I am going to work on reading only before lunch. I spend so much time going back and forth between watching shows and reading, I would like to try and split up my day so I get a little of both.

Here’s to another day tomorrow!

January 5th, 2021

Another day! Diet on point for the day. I was only able to do half of my workout due to my legs being sore from yesterday. My neck was also bothering me, probably because yesterday was my first day back at the chiropractor since 2 weeks prior.

I hope to continue attempting to get my workouts done and following my calories for each day. I hope to see a large loss this week as my body gets rid of all the extra bloating from sodium.

Here’s to a new day!
