Eh….

This hasn’t been a great year for weight loss. It’s been a lazy year. 5 years of being on the ball I guess took it’s toll? Or I just got lazy in tracking anything. Either way, we’re mid 2021 and my weight is definitely up from what it was at the beginning of the year.

In May, I moved back to using the Transform App to plan my calories/macros for me. I haven’t necessarily been following the macros since I do better with a balanced approach rather than low/high carb day approach so it’s been more of calorie cycling. Most importantly, my weight is moving in the right direction. I have been glad to see the scale move the right way even with extra snack here and there. It’s been good to see the number on the scale go down.

I know I’m a ways away from being back where I was but I am glad that it’s moving in the right direction again.

Here’s to hopefully continuing this journey and getting back into my thin pants!

2021 Here We Come!

New year, time for some new getting serious goals.

We were traveling over Christmas and New Years so today is the first day I had the opportunity to get back on track.

Yesterday was get groceries so I can meal prep and today started eating healthy and working out again.

I will be doing my workouts at night. Still following the Transform App. I am starting Cross Training at phase 1 again since it’s been so long since I worked out. I will be following custom macros.

I gained quite a bit from Thanksgiving to yesterday so I should be dropping weight fairly quickly here at the beginning.

I will be picking back up with my daily check ins and will resume posting my meals on social media, even if they are SUPER repetitive.

Here’s to a new year, a new chance to FINALLY hit my goal weight, and a new chance to get my fitness under control.

I am DONE letting other people’s opinions control me. Here’s to a new year to hit those goals!

At Home Body Sculpting Level 1 Week 2

I decided to switch things up again. I changed to the at home body sculpting program and I am working with a buddy to help keep me accountable.

Week 2 I am down 1.6 pounds for the week. I will be taking out reset days for the next couple of weeks to see if this helps my progress. This was the first week with a good loss in a while so I want to see if I can keep it up.

We have 2 weeks until we will be out of town for the weekend, I plan on not counting anything over that weekend and want to do the best I can for the next 2 weeks.

I have been 100% during the week and a little sketchy on the weekends, so I am hoping dialing in the planning a little will help things along.

At the end of the day, I am really hoping to be at my goal weight by the end of the year and eating healthy extra days never killed anyone.

Cross Training Level 1 Week 10

Well, this week did not go as expected. I’ve been stuck at the same weight for several weeks. Granted, some of those were my fault for going overboard on reset day or extra cheats during the week but, for the last 2 weeks I have been on track and haven’t been losing as quickly as I would like.

Starting this week I am going to start on another nutrition plan and follow it for a couple of months and see how it goes. It’s been a long time of me in a deficit, occasionally taking reset weeks or whatever but, for the most part it’s been deficit for 5 years.

I passed my 5 year mark at the beginning of the month. Granted, I am still not at my goal weight but, the sheer fact I have been able to keep off 70+ pounds for 5 years is amazing.

I was not the typical yo-yo dieter, I didn’t even really diet prior to 5 years ago. And 5 years ago I didn’t want to diet, I wanted to completely change my life. I wanted to get away from being pre-diabetic and having borderline blood pressure. I wanted to get healthy again. And I especially didn’t care how long it took me to get there.

I have enjoyed life along the way but I am super proud of where I am.

Now I just need to get back on the 100% workout train. My workouts have been spotty but nutrition has been followed so, in theory I should be losing. We’ll see what happens over the next couple of months!

Cross Training Level 1 Week 7

Another week done! My first week back on track with my workouts and nutrition went well. I was able to lose 3.4 pounds this week and look forward to moving in the right direction again. I made sure to stay as close to my macros/calories as I could and I made sure to get in my gallon of water a day.

It seems like getting back on track after some time away is the WORST! But it always feels AMAZING when you finally CRUSH IT!

How was your week?

Time to Get Back On Track

It’s been a LOOOOOOOOONG minute since I was on track for any length of time.

It started with my weight being the same for 2 months. I decided I would switch to maintenance for 2 weeks to get my body back on track.

Then we started the bathroom remodel. I thought it would take a weekend, I planned to eat out for each meal over the weekend since we would be working all day and then was supposed to get back on track that Monday.

Then our house started having electrical surges, we couldn’t use any of our kitchen appliances to cook food, so I ate sandwiches.

Overall, my body probably needed the break. Today was my first reset day in 3 or maybe 4 weeks where I made sure not to go crazy. And I will be back to my deficit tomorrow.

During this time, my sisters wedding also got scheduled, so I have a dress I need to be able to fit in.

Like happens, this is the first long time in quite some time that I have fallen off track since starting my journey.

Most importantly, I never completely lost everything.

I am up about 7 pounds, most of that will be water weight from the excess sodium. Getting back on track following the Flexible Dieting Lifestyle balanced nutrition deficit plan and will start my Transform workouts back on Tuesday.

Life happens, pick yourself up and move on.

Back to Cross Training

I think I forgot to mention something…

I switched back to Cross Training. After a couple of weeks on the Body Weight beginner program, I got bored. I’m back to my faithful Cross Training. I love the diversity of the cross training workouts. Now, equipped is my favorite since I have most of the equipment to complete or modify everything, but it’s been great to be back with the Cross Training program.

I am also trying really had to be back to doing the ENTIRE workout rather than stopping halfway through. I haven’t been 100% successful on this one yet but the only days I haven’t finished totally were days I was super exhausted.

I am still working to get rid of being tired all the time. I don’t know if it’s something I’m eating, not sleeping enough, or not enough of something but this week it does seem to be a little better after increasing my sleep a little bit. Or, making sure to go to bed on time a little more.

I am also taking 2 weeks in maintenance calories after 6 weeks of staying at the same weight. This could have been my fault for overdoing reset days BUT, it was time for a little reset anyways. I’ll be modifying my deficit plans for the next couple of weeks too to see what happens.

Once the two weeks of maintenance are done, I will be making double sure to stay under my calories on reset days so I’m not ruining my entire week in one day.

Every day I move closer to my goals and I am so excited to continue seeing what happens!

Bodyweight Beginner Phase 1 Week 2

It’s been a journey. I started my journey at 253. I started on a Thursday because I wasn’t sure if I waited till Monday, anything would happen. So I started that day. It was a Thursday.
If you are on the fence, just start. I did the best I could with my nutrition with what was in my pantry those first few days before I could go to the store. Do the best you can today. Don’t wait.
It’s a process. You did not gain the weight overnight, you will not lose it overnight.
I started my journey 11 months after my daughter was born. I was exclusively pumping and gaining weight like crazy thanks to pints of ice cream every day and anything else I could eat, all to “keep my supply up.” It was an excuse, I gained 43 pounds from giving birth to starting my journey, in 11 months.
Start today. Do what you can. I had to modify A LOT in those first days, weeks, months. I first realized my progress when after several months of working out, I was able to do a sit up without something holding my feet down.
Focus on the non-scale victories. They are abundant. My clothing sizes have gone down considerably from a 22 to an 8, from a 2xl to a medium. My weight currently goes up and down and up and down but I always make sure I keep my power promises, 1 gallon of water at least a day, hit my calories every day, don’t go crazy on reset days, get my workout done.
The picture on the left are me at the beginning of my journey, August 2015. Middle is me 2 weeks ago at the beginning of the at home body weight program and right is today. The things I can do now compared to the first photos is amazing. The fact I have stayed on this journey since August 2015 is amazing. I have no desire to go back to that person. In fact, as I dropped clothing sizes I got rid of the larger sizes. I was that determined not to go back.
If you’re on the fence, why? What do you have to lose except the weight, the bad habits, the larger clothing sizes.
You have everything to gain, get on that!
