Week 30, 2020

This week we finally finished our bathroom and all extra expenses that came with it!

We saves over $20,000 by not going with our first choice and doing some of the work ourselves. Even paying someone to do one of the bathrooms and the floors in both we saved over that much.

Overall, we probably won’t take on another project like this for a long time BUT, it was nice to do it ourselves and get it done.

We did use credit cards to fund the remodels, mostly because it was emergent considering the leaking of both showers and the need to be able to shower in our own house again. Haha

We also had some electrical surges caused by faulty lines and we had to replace our fridge and we thought our microwave was toast too, turns out it was not working because of the surging but, we are going to retire our 10 year old microwave and replace her anyways.

Our new fridge is actually a nice fridge, the previous one would freeze over about once a year and we would have to defrost it. Not ideal! So, this one is a good brand that should keep us going for a long time, and will go with us when we move.

We will hit our debt payoff hard next month, finally using our stimulus money to help pay off the bathroom remodel, but we will still have some that needs to be paid in the coming months.

All we can do is keep paying off as much as we can and ideally we are able to get everything paid off before we want to move to a new house, hopefully towards the end of 2022!

Time to Get Back On Track

It’s been a LOOOOOOOOONG minute since I was on track for any length of time.

It started with my weight being the same for 2 months. I decided I would switch to maintenance for 2 weeks to get my body back on track.

Then we started the bathroom remodel. I thought it would take a weekend, I planned to eat out for each meal over the weekend since we would be working all day and then was supposed to get back on track that Monday.

Then our house started having electrical surges, we couldn’t use any of our kitchen appliances to cook food, so I ate sandwiches.

Overall, my body probably needed the break. Today was my first reset day in 3 or maybe 4 weeks where I made sure not to go crazy. And I will be back to my deficit tomorrow.

During this time, my sisters wedding also got scheduled, so I have a dress I need to be able to fit in.

Like happens, this is the first long time in quite some time that I have fallen off track since starting my journey.

Most importantly, I never completely lost everything.

I am up about 7 pounds, most of that will be water weight from the excess sodium. Getting back on track following the Flexible Dieting Lifestyle balanced nutrition deficit plan and will start my Transform workouts back on Tuesday.

Life happens, pick yourself up and move on.

July 5th, 2020

We had to move a lot of stuff for the upcoming bathroom remodel today so we ate out for lunch. Otherwise I didn’t go totally crazy with my day. The goal this week is stick to maintenance calories except for Friday which is demo day.

It’s Garden Time!

We have been talking about wanting a garden for as long as I can remember. Eventually we would like to move onto some land and have a large garden but for now, we live in a residential area and wanted to do what we could as far as a garden goes.

Back in May, we started out by making the raised beds, filling with dirt, and planting ALL THE SEEDS entirely out of season. There wasn’t a whole lot of expectation as far as things producing since everything was planted at the wrong time. We waited, and eventually had to pull everything out thanks to it not producing (no surprise). Now, we have entered into the correct season for things to start being planted for fall.

You can check out a gallery from beginning to now below but currently planted includes pole beans, corn, cantaloupe, pumpkin, marigold, nasturtium, okra, tomato, bell pepper, basil, and hot peppers (the last 3 having been planted today).
