I was finally able to workout tonight. I picked up where I had stopped rather than skipping the last two weeks. It felt so good to be back at working out. I also have been eating on my diet this week and enjoyed more of my protein shake ice cream. I did add another scoop of protein powder though.
I can’t believe how good it felt to be back to working out. I have a little bit of pain in my wisdom teeth but I’m pretty sure it’s from sucking on the area too much.
I cannot believe how much I have come to enjoy my workouts. I have gone from being a couch potato entirely to enjoying working out. I do still have time to be a couch potato for the rest of the day. I also work a desk job so I sit pretty much all day until my workout. I love this new body and I cannot wait to get to where I want to be.

Back to the Plan
Today marks the beginning of getting back into my diet. I went grocery shopping and only had to replace one of my foods with something different. Usually I eat baby carrots with ranch for a snack but because of my wisdom teeth I decided to change it to something a little softer. I found some butternut squash and decided to sprinkle it with some stevia and cinnamon and steam it in the microwave. It was delicious! Almost like a dessert!
I also found this ice cream by Arctic Zero that is 150 calories for the entire pint! Unfortunately the taste of it could have been better. It tasted like whey protein meets chocolate powder. I found a recipe for making it myself since I have my own ice cream maker, it was essentially a protein shake frozen. I definitely modified the recipe and it turned out delicious! It was 388 calories but has 40.2 grams of protein. See the recipe below and feel free to try it yourself with your favorite protein shake recipe.
Delicious Chocolate Peanut Butter Protein Ice Cream
1c soy milk (I use the unflavored kirkland brand)
1scoop chocolate whey protein powder
1packet stevia
1T unsweetened cocoa powder
2T powdered peanut butter
1/4t vanilla extract
1whole medium banana
1. Mix all ingredients except banana in a bowl until chunks are gone. Pour mixture into your ice cream maker and freeze 10-15 minutes.
2. While ice cream is churning slice banana into small pieces, pour into churning ice cream maker once it starts to freeze. Church another 5 minutes.
3. Pour into bowl and enjoy!
February 26th, 2016 Check In Day
To say I have gained weight since my wisdom teeth were taken out would be an understatement. I went from 214.4 at my last weight in to 227 today. I started another DietBet and I was not happy. I am hoping the huge weight gain in the last 2 weeks is just from eating tons of salt in these soups. Unfortunately I have been unable to go completely back on my diet. I can start irrigating the area tomorrow so I am going to go back on my diet tomorrow. I figure the only thing I may not be able to eat is baby carrots and the rice may get stuck in the holes. I am very disappointed in all the weight gain. I am also going to try to start working out again on Monday. I found a blog for a girl who did TurboFire after her wisdom teeth and she said she waited a week and didn’t have issues. Unfortunately the worst days of pain is today and tomorrow. I only have a couple of days left of pain medicine so hopefully everything stops hurting or I will have to go to plain Ibuprophen and Tylenol.
Today is also the first day my husband goes back to work since my teeth were taken out. Hopefully my 1 year old behaves today. So far we seem to be doing well. I really do not want one of my clots to dislodge, it sounds no fun to have a dry socket. Well, that’s all for now.
Until Next Time.

Oh My Pain!
Today is the worst so far for the pain in my mouth. I woke up several times with my mouth hurting last night. I cannot wait for everything to heal and me to be able to workout again. Unfortunately, sticking to a diet is hard when you cannot eat a lot of things. I have been eating lots of broth, creamy soups, ice cream and rice pudding. Yesterday I ate toast and eggs, that was very good. I am hoping for quick healing but today I will probably have to take more pain medicine that I have been. Yesterday I was able to go about 6 hours between doses of medicine. Unfortunately there is a lot of swelling today and I will probably have to take it more often. Oh well.
So far I have been keeping on top of my medicine, I have been alternating every 3 hours with the two different kinds of medicine they gave me. I have also been using moist heat like they told me to. I cannot wait until everything is healed.
Until next time.

Another Day On The Couch
Well, my mouth feels more swollen today than it did yesterday. It definitely hurts more as well. My husband is still doing an awesome job to take care of my 1 year old. I cannot wait until I feel better and can workout again.
Awesome Husband
Let’s talk about how awesome my husband is for a minute. I had my wisdom teeth out today. He did not complain at all. He drove me to the dentist, waiting the 15 minutes it took them to remove them and has sacrificially taken 4 whole days off work. LOL!
Just kidding! He has been awesome though! He went and filled my prescriptions for me and he has gone back and forth from the store several times today to pick up various soups and other foods that would be good on my mouth. I thought that making rice pudding would be great for wisdom teeth removal because it would be soft and cold. I did not think about the little rice particles getting stuck in the holes that will now exist in my mouth for several weeks.
I am officially out of workouts for 1 week to let everything heal. I cannot hold my 1 year old for 24 hours until all the anesthesia officially wears off. All of this is no fun for someone that likes to workout now. I am very happy that I have been able to learn to love working out. Since I have been sick for the last week and a half I will be officially 2 and a half weeks without working out by the time I am healed. This stinks but I will get over it. So please forgive me for the not workout related talk for the next week but unfortunately I will not have many healthy meals ahead of me, mostly soups and ice cream for this girl for the next couple of days.
Until next time.

Wisdom Teeth
Tomorrow is the day I get my wisdom teeth out. It will have been about 2 weeks since I have been able to do a TurboFire workout. It has already been a week and a half and I am guessing it will be at least another week before I am feeling well enough to do it. I cannot wait until everything is healed and I am not sick so I can workout again.
Modifications
Well, I was going to stick to my diet until Monday, after my wisdom teeth get removed. However, apparently yesterday was the last day for several of the foods I make in bulk for my meals such as rice and chicken salad. I decided to stick to my diet but stray from my normal diet. I still plan to stick to my calorie goal but I don’t want to make a bunch of food and then it to go to waste.
I am very happy that I am able to diet on a budget and I would like to continue sticking to that. Unfortunately when I started couponing about a year ago I stocked up on tons of Hamburger Helper. I try to convince my husband to eat this since he is not convinced about dieting yet (although I do try to convince him to). He does not like some of the selections available. He used to eat a lot of mac and cheese so I stopped buying that thinking he would eat the Hamburger Helper. Not so much, instead he is eating more breakfast burritos, hamburgers, and sandwiches. Men! Well, that is not what I am eating tonight, I did make myself some nachos which I did count out chips for and measured my cheese. I also made a breakfast burrito with 1 tortilla, 2 eggs, 2 slices of cheese and salsa. This is definitely something my body does not appreciate as far as weight loss usually but you gotta do what you gotta do without wasting food.
Until next time.

I Skipped Check In Day
Well, Jonathan was off on Thursday so we decided to eat nachos. I do allow myself to have cheat meals occasionally so this seemed like a yummy choice. However, I usually weight in on Friday morning. I did not want my numbers for the week to reflect eating poorly for one meal so I put it off. Then I ate nachos again on Friday night. So far I have gained 4 pounds in 2 days. I know this is due to eating poorly and once it all digests it will go down. So, today I am focusing on sticking to my diet. I am also going grocery shopping for foods that will be good to eat health wise but also approved for someone that is getting their wisdom teeth out. I will be getting mine out on Monday. I am making a big pot of rice pudding and I will be eating off this and eating raisins in it for the week. Also, I may eat some peanut butter sandwiches on wheat bread. Either way I will be doing the best I can to heal this week so I can get back to working out. The good news is I seem to finally be over my congestion issues. I cannot wait to heal from getting these teeth removed and be able to start working out again. I will be starting over the week that I have missed, I stopped on a Thursday so my goal is to rest up and be back to working out on Thursday. We shall see how this goes!
Until next time.

Another Day, Still Sick
Well, I thought I was going to workout yesterday and then right before I went to start I started coughing. Not a good way to go into a workout.
I am still being really good about sticking to my diet. I seem to be losing weight as well. My husband is off today so we are going to have a cheat meal. This go around rather than having cheat days I allow myself cheat meals where I can cheat for one meal and then back to eating good. This method has seemed to work well for me this time around. The problem I have always had is I will do really good during the week, lose quite a bit of week and then cheat day comes around and I gain like 5 pounds and spend the whole week trying to work off the weight I gained on my cheat day. There is not a whole lot of damage I can do in one meal so usually I might gain a pound or two and once it all digests I am back to normal.
I am so glad that I am able to do this on my own. I do not subscribe to the theory that you cannot lose weight on your own, I think it’s a matter of enough determination and the right diet and exercise plan for you. I feel that a lot of people give up because they are not seeing fast enough results. I guess most people don’t realize that even with perfect working out and dieting we can only expect about 1-2 pounds a week, not The Biggest Loser type numbers but if you were to stay consistent that’s 104 pounds in only a year!
For now, I am going to continue doing what I know how to do and hope that I get better soon. Next week I am getting my wisdom teeth out so I will be spending a week eating rice pudding and trying not to die.
Until next time.
